forecheckai.com is laid out like a rink
The Forecheck site got its colors and logo, a light and dark switch, and a layout that moves zone by zone on a big screen.
A company with a hockey name should have a site that knows what a rink looks like. forecheckai.com is laid out like one.
A page that moves zone by zone
On a big desktop screen, the site doesn't scroll down. It moves sideways, one panel at a time, and a small rink on the screen shows how far along you are.
That only happens when it helps:
- The window has to be wide enough and tall enough. On a short window it goes back to a normal page, so nothing gets cut off.
- On a phone it's always a normal page you scroll with your thumb.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site respects that and holds still.
Hockey, lightly
- Rink lines divide the sections, and the sections carry names like Blue line and Center ice.
- What's built is grouped by zone: get paid, run the day, win the client.
- The name gets a dictionary entry. "fore·check (verb) To pressure the puck deep in the other team's zone before they can set up." And under it: "In business: to get ahead of the busywork before it gets ahead of you."
- The contact form has a goal light.
Colors, a logo and a light switch
Forecheck's colors are a bright blue, a red, a near-black navy and white, with a logo made in a light version and a dark version. The same look runs through the site and the back office I run the business on.
A button in the header switches between light, dark and matching your device. It starts by matching your device and remembers what you pick.
Why it matters for a software company
A website is one of the first things I'd build for an owner. If mine ignored a phone, a short laptop screen or a visitor who has motion turned off, you'd be right to wonder what yours would do.
