Households: one login for the whole family

One sign-in can play for a spouse and the kids in Football Squares, admins can combine duplicate sign-ups, and a merged member keeps both email addresses.

On a youth team, one parent usually handles everything. The same email signs up Mom, Dad and two kids, or Grandma gets her squares bought for her. Football Squares is built for that.

Playing as someone else

A login can act for several people. On My Squares there's a Household card where you choose who you're playing as, and the board, the squares and the wins follow that choice.

Buying for someone new is part of claiming. The "Claiming for" picker ends with "Someone else". Type a name, tap Add, and that person exists on your account. Their squares and any winnings show under yours until they sign in with an email of their own.

  • You can only add people to your own household, up to 20.
  • Two people in one household can't have the same name.
  • A square bought for a household member is pending until it's paid, the same as any other.

When a household member gets their own login

A kid grows up, or Grandma gets an email address. The first time they sign in, they're asked once: keep the account holder in charge, or have their winnings come to them. Staying is the default, and an admin can change it later.

Until then, a household member's win goes to the person holding the login, marked as theirs, and the admins get their own copy.

Cleaning up duplicates

People sign up twice. Admins get a "Worth a look" panel that flags possible duplicates and possible households.

  • A duplicate gets merged. The admin picks which profile to keep. A blank phone or email on the kept profile is filled in from the other one, and nothing already there is overwritten. The screen says up front that nothing is lost and that it can't be undone.
  • A household gets combined. The admin picks who owns the account, then ticks who joins it. Only the people with no email of their own are ticked to start.
  • Tap "Not a match" and the suggestion stays gone.

Both addresses keep working

After a merge, both email addresses still sign in. The code always goes to the main address, and the sign-in screen says where it went. An admin can add another address to a member, or promote one with "Make main", and the old main address keeps working.

Members can fix their own name and phone number under My details. The members list starts collapsed, with a search box, so a full board is still easy to work.
