Locker Room Fund is free for teams, and now it has a tip jar

An optional Chip in link for families who want to help keep Locker Room Fund free. It goes to the app, never the team.

Published Oct 11, 2026 by Forecheck AI

Locker Room Fund is free for teams. It never holds or moves a team's money, and it takes no cut: every dollar a family puts in goes straight to their team. That's staying the way it is.

It does cost something to keep running, though. So there's now a way for a family to pitch in if they feel like it. It's called Chip in.

Where you'll see it

  • A card at the bottom of each game page. It says Locker Room Fund is free for teams, that every dollar your team raises stays with your team, and that the servers, tragically, are not free.
  • One line in the footer of the emails a pool sends: "Free for teams. Our servers are not."

Where you won't

The card only shows to someone whose entry is settled: the team has confirmed their payment, or the entry was free. It never sits beside a payment a family still owes the team. A tip jar shouldn't compete with the fundraiser, so it waits until you're settled up.

It's also left off the sign-in code email, which stays plain.

Where the money goes

Chip in goes to Locker Room Fund, not to your team and not to the pool. The card says so right under the button, because nobody should think they're giving to the team when they aren't.

It's called Chip in and not Donate on purpose. Locker Room Fund isn't a charity, and the word shouldn't suggest it is.

Nothing about the games changes either way. A family that never taps it plays exactly the same game as one that does.
