Moving a team's pool over in the middle of the season

A youth team's points pool came over mid-season with its players, its past winners and the way it already collects money.

A youth football team had been running its weekly points pool on a form and a spreadsheet since Week 1. Halfway through the season, they wanted it in Locker Room Fund. Starting over wasn't an option: players had already paid, six weeks of winners were already crowned, and families knew how it worked.

So Locker Room Fund can now take over a pool that's already running.

Everyone comes over as they are

Every player and every entry comes across with its entry number intact, and each one is marked paid, because they already paid the team. Nobody pays twice. The weeks before the switch show on the Standings page, week by week, so the parent who won Week 3 still sees it.

The pool opens on the team's schedule, not the moment it's set up. Until the organizer opens it, only the team's admins can see it, so nobody gets a pick reminder for a week that's still being played the old way.

Some players don't have an email address, or don't want to deal with one. An admin can add them by name and make their picks for them. A parent can add their kid and switch between playing as themselves and playing as their kid. That works in all four games.

The money stays where it already is

This team already collects through its own donation page, and that isn't changing. The pool now links to that page: a parent who wants to join mid-season or buy an extra entry taps through, pays there, then taps "I've sent it." An admin confirms it, same as any other payment.

Because the money lives outside the app for this pool, the money panel shows what the organizer actually needs, the prizes still owed, and leaves out totals the app can't know.

A team that takes payment through an app sees those options. A team that doesn't never sees them: no field asking for a username, no notes about it on the admin screens, nothing in the emails. Parents only see the way their own team collects.

It looks like the team's pool

Every email now leads with the team: its logo on the left, its name on the right, in its colors. Locker Room Fund is a small credit at the bottom. Parents should know which team they're supporting before they know what software it runs on.

On a team's own pages, the Demo link is gone from the header and footer. A parent there is playing their team's real game, not shopping for one.

Finding your way back in

Members fix their own name and phone on a Your details page instead of asking the organizer, and a parent can update their kid's too.

The header now says Sign in or Your teams on every page. Your teams lists every pool you're in. Admins also see a pool that isn't open yet, so they can look it over before anyone else does. If your team's pool hasn't opened, the page says so instead of sitting empty. Team pools still aren't listed anywhere public: you get in through your team's link or by signing in.

Same players, same winners, same way of paying. New home.
