The back office I run Forecheck on
Forecheck's own back office: sign-in by emailed code, one inbox for every message from the site, and a timeline on every client.
I run Forecheck on a back office I built for myself. It's my own tool, and this is what's in it now.
Signing in
There's one login, and it's mine. I enter my email, tap "Email me a code", and type in the eight digits that arrive. The code lasts ten minutes and only works in the browser that asked for it. There's nothing to remember and nothing to reset.
One inbox for the whole site
Every message from forecheckai.com lands in one inbox.
- Tabs for New, Replied, Clients, Archived and All.
- Mark a message replied, archive it, or restore it.
- Turn a message into a client with one button. Try it twice on the same person and it says "Already a client."
A timeline on every client
Each client has a page with tabs for their profile, timeline, contracts, billing and accounts.
- Log a call, an email, a meeting or a note.
- Set the next follow-up with a date and a note. "Mark it done" logs it, then clears the date or moves it.
- The overview and the client list flag a follow-up that's due today or overdue, so nobody slips through because I got busy.
Archive keeps everything. Delete is hard on purpose.
- Archive hides a client everywhere and keeps every record. I can restore them any time, and both moves are written to their timeline.
- Archiving is refused while a client still has monthly billing running. The message says to stop the billing first.
- Delete only works on a client with no history. If there's billing history, a signed contract, or receipts tied to them, it's refused and points me to archive.
- Even then it asks first: "Delete this client for good? This can't be undone."
The rule behind it: a record that has ever touched money doesn't get erased by a tired click.
Dark mode, and a phone that works
The back office follows the device's light or dark setting, and a switch in the side menu overrides it. On a phone it's a top bar and a slide-in menu, with rows and links big enough to tap.
